Hey!

Welcome to my blog! I’m Allison Gigax, a fifth-year at the University of Cincinnati studying cybersecurity engineering, computer science and criminal justice. My family is a BIG Cincinnati family. It is where my parents and all of my aunts and uncles went to college, where my parents met, and where my brothers and I were born and raised. This breeds a strong comfort here, but when my older brother Adam moved to Atlanta, Georgia for college, it sparked a desire to explore within me. Before this big change, the only trips I really took were long weekends up to Columbus, or maybe even as far as Akron to see my brother play basketball.

Since then, Adam has lived and travelled everywhere, inspiring me to follow in his footsteps. Luckily, when you have an older sibling who has moved everywhere from San Francisco to London, it gives you an excuse to travel now and again.

This December, I will be travelling to Iceland with a group of my peers at UC, and I could not be more excited. This will be my second time out of the country, and my first time doing so without the excuse of visiting my brother. It feels very exciting to take a trip that I chose, and hopefully it is just the first of many!

When I am travelling, I love hiking, wandering, shopping, and eating out, so you can definitely expect to read of my adventures with any and all of that here on my blog!
